The playstation is a weird one for me. I didn't have one growing up at all. It was entirely unnessissary for me to ever buy one. I did at one point, buying one in college just because of their abundance at thrift stores at the time, but I sold it as I was moving across state lines after college and now I regret it. The retro market has boomed significantly. That ps1 I had a ton of fun loading up for $15 back then goes for $50 now and weighs almost nothing and takes up virtually no room. I could have put it in my fucking backpack. Oh well. You live and you learn. I can still play all my ps1 games on my ps2 and my ps3, so it's not like I need a ps1, but by god is it fun to open that disc drive and click it closed. The bios boot up is just an absolute joy too.
This console has one of the best libraries of all time and I'd really love to have a larger physical library for it. I have quite a bit of ps1 classics on my ps3 but not a large physical library at all. Must collect... more...!
